Birds and Bears of Ecuador
Alice Madar is an avid wildlife photographer. This talk she’ll focus on Ecuador, where she encountered a wide variety of birds and the shy, elusive Spectacled Bear, the only bear in South America. Ecuador, a little smaller than Arizona, hosts three times as many bird species, 1600+ including 152 hummingbird species! As executive director of the International Hummingbird Society, Alice’s particular focus is hummingbirds, but she will share photos and insights on a range of bird species that live in Ecuador’s Andes mountains, Amazon basin, cloud forests, and Galápagos Islands.
