All I Want for Christmas Is More Birds

What do birders really want for Christmas? More birds! Join Rich Armstrong for a humorous look at the Christmas Bird Count (CBC)—what it is, how it works, and why birders willingly get up before dawn in the middle of winter to count birds. The CBC is an early-winter bird census; the world’s longest-running community science survey. Thousands participate, counting every bird they see. Feeder watchers also join in, counting birds from the comfort of home. Find out what happens when birders, binoculars, early mornings, and lots of birds come together for a big birding tradition of the year! Community Library Sedona. 3250 White Bear Rd. Wed. Oct. 28. Social time 5:30. Program starts 6:00.
