The Southwest Wine Center ? Growing a Water-Wise Industry: Presentation and Tour

This is free community presentation and tour of the Southwest Wine Center, sponsored by the Verde River Basin Partnership. As part of its quarterly meeting, the Partnership welcomes guest speaker Nikki Check, Director of Viticulture and Enology at Yavapai College and Mayor of Jerome. Ms. Check will be discussing the water use of wine grapes and what it means for the future of agricultural and domestic water usage. The Southwest Wine Center at Yavapai College includes a winery, a vineyard (9 acres, to be expanded to 17), and a student-run tasting room  giving students a full hands-on experience without leaving campus.
